Christy Clark presents the first ever Premier`s Wine Award to Dave Carson, senior winemaker at See Ya Later Ranch.

Let the 34th Annual Fall Okanagan Wine Festival begin!

Held last night at the historic Laurel Packinghouse in downtown Kelowna, the British Columbia Wine Awards and Reception marks the launch of the Fall Wine Festival (October 3-13). Of 540 wines tasted by a distinguished panel, 268 were awarded medals – bronze, silver and gold. Winemakers like See Ya Later Ranch  senior winemaker Dave Carson, Stoneboat Vineyards founding winemaker Jay Martiniuk, and a host of others, were on hand to bathe in the limelight.

At the top of the pyramid, only 33 wines won gold. Of those, judges selected the crème de la crème – only 1% of the total wines submitted – to receive Platinum medals:

  • Baille-Grohman Estate Winery 2012 Cabernet Franc
  • Quails`Gate 2012 Syrah
  • See Ya Later Ranch 2012 Rover Shiraz-Viognier
  • Silkscarf Winery 2013 Viognier
  • Spierhead Winery 2013 Pinot Gris

The Premier`s Award went to the best wine overall of the 5 Platinum medals – See Ya Later Ranch 2012 Rover Shiraz- Viognier.
