Okanagan Feast of Fields 2012

On Sunday, August 12, 1-5 pm, the 4th annual Okanagan Feast of Fields takes place at Claremont Ranch Organics in Lake Country. It is an amazing opportunity to support and sample the best in locally grown and produced food and wine from 60 exhibitors, including area restaurants, food artisans and wineries, even a brewery, a distillery, a cidery and a meadery.

Organized by the FarmFolkCityFolk Society to highlight the connections between farmers and chefs, the fundraiser is a gastronomic journey towards a sustainable, local food system. Supporting FarmFolksCityFolk work throughout the province, proceeds of the 2011 Okanagan Feast of Fields funded the April 2012 Meet Your Maker Okanagan, an industry networking event for small-scale local food producers and buyers. Feast of Fields takes place at Claremont Ranch Organics, a certified organic farm in Lake Country, which grows several varieties of pears, peaches, apricots and plums as well as 35 heritage varieties of apples.  As there is no parking at the farm, a free shuttle will operate between the parking area at George Eliot Secondary School in Winfield and Claremont Ranch. There is also a $15 round-trip Feast Bus which starts in Oliver and collects along the way. Tickets are $85 for adults and $15 for children aged 7-12. Adult and Bus tickets are available at Choices Markets in Kelowna and the Penticton & Wine Country Visitor Information Centre, or online at
